Frequently asked questions

How do I become a member?
Come to a public club meeting or contact us first so we can get to know each other. After that, you can apply online, and our team will get in touch about the next steps.
What does membership cost?
The one-time admission fee is 10 €. The annual contribution is 50 € for adults and 24 € for students.
When and where do you meet?
Our public club meeting usually takes place on the first Sunday of the month from 3 p.m. at the Zeiss-Großplanetarium Berlin. Guests are welcome.
Do I need my own telescope?
No. Members can use the club's 14-inch Dobsonian telescope free of charge at our observatory in the Wildpark Johannismühle, and we offer telescope advice for beginners.
Where can I go stargazing in Berlin with you?
We regularly set up telescopes in public across Berlin for spontaneous stargazing with passers-by. Sessions are mostly spontaneous — contact us and we will let you know where to find us.
Can beginners, families, and children join?
Yes. Beginners, families, children, and young people are all welcome — no prior knowledge or equipment needed.
What public events do you host?
Throughout the year we take part in public astronomy events in and around Berlin, including Yuri's Night, the Long Night of the Sciences, Asteroid Day, the Long Night of Astronomy, Family Night, the Berlin Astro Fair, and the Day of Astronomy.
Do you have your own observatory?
Yes. The club runs an observatory in the Wildpark Johannismühle south of Berlin, where members observe with a 14-inch Dobsonian telescope free of charge.
